All Faith’s Food Bank – Food Stamps (SNAP Application Specialist)

Offers food distribution to mobile pantries, local schools, and boys and girls clubs. The informative website also lists current food pantries open in Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. They will also help with SNAP Applications for benefits. To stay current with “operating food pantries,” you can download all food pantries operating locally by date and time for the upcoming week.

Elks Feeding Empty Little Tummies (E.F.E.L.T.)

An all-volunteer group using purchased or donated non-perishable foods to provide weekend food packages to over 2000 identified homeless or food-deprived elementary school district students ages 5 to 12 years old in Manatee County. Every Friday during the school year E.F.L.T. each child in the program is provided six meals, snacks, drinks, bread, and other nonperishables to sustain them over the weekend.

Salvation Army

Salvation Army’s Sarasota location provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, 365 days a year, to those participating in the various shelter complex programs. Dinner is also served to their neighbors or anyone in need. Breakfast is served to anyone using the Emergency Shelter services. Daily hot dinners from 5:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. 365 days a year are at the Sarasota and Bradenton locations, and food pantries are at all locations.
